Organised for twenty-six years, the open-air ‘Podlaski Przełom Bugu’ are among the most important and oldest events of their kind in the country. This year’s event took place on 12-17 September and was attended by thirty-five photographers from Poland and France. Co-organisers of the open-air event were: the Municipal Cultural Centre in Siedlce, the Bialskie Cultural Centre in Biała Podlaska, the Bialski Poviat – Poviat Starosty in Biała Podlaska, the Lublin Landscape Parks Complex and the Fotoklub of the Republic of Poland – Artists’ Association.
The main objectives of organising open-air workshops are:
– supporting and promoting artistic creativity in the field of photography,
– exchange of creative and workshop experiences of artists from Poland and Europe,
– promotion of the Bug River region, rich in spiritual and material culture monuments, attractive for tourists,
– collecting photographic material for the organisation of exhibitions and the publication of a catalogue – an album showing the beauty of the Bug River scenery, flora and fauna.
The plein-air event featured presentations of works by participants including members of the Union of Polish Art Photographers: Tadeusz Żaczek and Piotr Perczyński from Biała Podlaska, Mieczysław Wieliczko from Olsztyn, Przemysław Barański and Tomasz Grzyb from Radom, Stanisław Dulny from Ostrowiec Św., Włodzimierz Krzemiński from Warsaw, Mieczysław Wroński from Stalowa Wola, Ryszard Karczmarski from Chełm, Stanisław Orłowski from Zamość and Piotr Speka from Piła.
Showcased in many cities, the post-air exhibitions are an excellent promotion of the Bug River region. So far, they have been repeatedly presented in, among others: Warsaw, Poznań, Zamość, Rzeszów, Hrubieszów, Płock, Lublin, Ostrowiec Św., Chełm, Sokołów Podlaski, Stalowa Wola, Łomża, Siedlce and Biała Podlaska.
The intended objectives of the organisation of the XXVIth International Photo Plein-Air ‘Podlaski Przełom Bugu 2021’ have been achieved. The effects of our work are presented at the exhibition and in the catalogue.
