‘Light in the space of shadow’ – Tomasz Grzyb

Tomasz Grzyb is an excellent observer and a master of mood building! He carefully looks around and at the same time instinctively follows his senses, inviting the viewer into a world of imagination. He skilfully searches for and makes use of light, which in his photographs becomes a laser target pointer for the viewer. With it, he usually highlights the geometric forms on which he wants to focus our attention. He perfectly moves between light and shadow, building the mood and bringing out the beauty of the geometric fragment of the landscape captured in the frame, which in the end becomes a work of art. It envelops our senses and remains in our memory for a long time. The sense of nostalgia that begins to germinate in us is a creative element of the process initiated by the author the moment he presses the shutter button. Tomasz Grzyb is an experienced and sensitive photographer who uses light and shadow with full awareness to create a magical atmosphere, giving the photographed place a multidimensional meaning. The author has consciously dispensed with colour in photography, building the mood with black and white. This treatment allows the focus to be on structure, geometric form, harmony and the play of light and shadow. It emphasises the nostalgic dimension of these unusual photographs, giving them a unique character.
